Donating Money instead of Offering Sacrifice
Question:- A person pledged that once my daughter gets well from her illness, I will sacrifice a goat as Donation (Sadqah). He did not, however, make this time bound. It so happened that his colleague’s sister contracted cancer, for which there was a donation drive in his office. Question is that the pledge that he had made to sacrifice a goat, can he instead give Sadqah in cash form? i.e., can he give cash Sadqah to this person?
Answer:- In this case, giving Donation (Sadqah) in cash form for the price of a goat, instead of performing sacrifice, is also possible and sufficient to satisfy the pledge.
