Employment for Women
Question:- My question is that in the contemporary world women are also being employed alongside men. Is it legitimate or illegitimate? What do the Shariah say about it?
Answer:- The original ruling in Islam is that women should remain in their homes and fulfill the internal household duties while the responsibility of earning a livelihood for the household is upon men. However, if there is no man in the house, including brothers, husband, father etc., who can earn for the household, then it is allowed for women to be employed with taking full care of Pardah.
